Renewing the Center exists for the spiritual renewal of the church.

What we do.

We started Renewing the Center because we feel compelled to work for the spiritual renewal of the church. God is always looking to breathe new life into those who seek Him, and we are here to help equip and empower people to respond to God’s initiative in the midst of their every day lives.

We do this work through our podcast, through the facilitation of spiritual direction, and through leading retreats and speaking engagements. It is our conviction that spiritual renewal is always an inside job, so to speak. God wants to do heart work, which then results in life change.

Our core biblical passage comes from the prophet Ezekiel (36v25-26), where God states, "I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.”

“Our team experienced more than 20 years of retreats and speakers, but Kris and Karyn were the only ones we asked to lead us for a second time – in fact, we asked them to come back and speak at seven retreats! The content was always the right balance of encouragement to the heart and challenge to the mind, but beyond the spiritual truths, what made Kris and Karyn especially meaningful to our staff was their level of personal investment of care and concern in each of us.”
